About
Texas-based. Mildly obsessed with not getting ripped off.
My name is Joe Esqueda III. By day I work at the crossroads of heavy industry and technology — spent years in refining and chemicals, and now I convince very old industrial control systems to cooperate with very modern software. It goes about as well as you'd expect.
Every app on this site started as a personal Excel spreadsheet I built because I was about to make a significant financial decision and I didn’t trust anyone else to do the math for me.
The car loan calculator came from sitting in a dealership watching a finance manager work the four square like a shell game. The mortgage one came from trying to get a quick answer about what taxes and insurance would actually do to my payment. The hybrid payoff calculator came from genuinely not knowing whether the premium was worth it (Hint: It was worth it, at 2019 prices when I bought, in 2026 the story isn't so clear.). You get the idea.
“I built these for myself. If other people find them useful, that’s great. If I never sell a single copy, I still have the apps I wanted.”
I taught myself Swift with a lot of help from AI tools and a willingness to break things repeatedly. The logic in every app was already proven in spreadsheet form — the hard part was already done. The rest was learning enough Swift to translate it into something I could pull out of my pocket in a car dealership.
Pancho Whampoa Signal & Telegraph LLC is a one-man operation registered in Texas. The name belongs to my dog. He contributes nothing but moral support and the occasional walk-by during video calls, or maybe he's actually the lead developer, who really knows.
Questions, feedback, or just want to tell me my apps saved you money — [email protected]. I read everything.
